Starting a blog is hard!

First off, there’s the pressure of picking a good name. After many hours of contemplation I came up with a couple ideas that I found totally witty: Vocal Digestion (A play on words – referring to my constantly growling tummy and also the processing of ideas in print), j’s jollies (this one was a total joke, but after many BAD ideas it become an almost serious suggestion), comial confessions (stories of my daily comedic mishaps – but I figured it’d be too hard to stay within the confines of comedy), pretty polish girl (NOT my idea. Ewwww!), peeling-pomegranetes-makes-me-feel-like-a-marine-biologist (because it DOES!) and many other names that made me laugh. Most ideas were alliterations, but they seemed too cheesy.

After much soul-searching about what few words could define me I eventually settled on my favorite color (pink!) and Confessions. This describes me in many ways. One: My boring wardrobe choices. I wear black, white, gray, pink and blue jean. That’s it. I have a couple other items which were purchased with much outside encouragement, but basically, it’s those couple colors (if you can call them that). Also, the color pink could be a play on words because it could be referring to lips which speak confessions – or of more scandalous female body parts which are also pink, and often have many stories to tell [but I am far too sweet for such things :p] . I like it. It sounds pretty, it describes me in some ways and gives me a starting place for topics. I can start with crazy antics and such.

Another reason a blog is hard to start is because there’s so much pressure on the first entry! Most people read the most recent entry, and if there’s something interesting they scroll back to the first one to figure out more about this anonymous posting person. Well… I am a female in her mid-twenties currently living in a large city in the Southeast. I am working toward getting my doctorate in clinical psychology, and I love it. Due to the nature of my work, you don’t get to know my name – because if you’re my client, I don’t want you to know that this is me. Also, so if I write something about my clients, it’s anonymous as well. Good for all involved, huh? Okay – so more about me (because that is the point of a blog, right?) I like adventure. I like rock climbing, caving, hiking, mountain biking, and anything outdoors that involves some element of risk and a whole lot of awesome. Unfortunately I currently study too much and my partner in crime moved 800 miles away, so I haven’t been doing as much cool stuff. But I’m trying! For example: I am currently visiting aforementioned man, and today we went cross country skiing. Fun. A bit chilly, but fun nonetheless.

Okay. I guess I’ve managed as much of an introduction as you are going to get, so I’ll leave it there for now. I want to get back to editing my background and text and all that cool stuff (yes, I am a total geek as well!).
